Terms of Service

1) Eligibility & Access

• You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).
• You may use the Service without creating an account. We may throttle or block abusive traffic to protect the Service.

2) Definitions

• "Judgment": An AI-generated analysis and verdict on a user-submitted topic.
• "Case": A structured submission with targets and evidence links analyzed by AI.
• "On-chain proof": A Solana Memo transaction containing only a hash (e.g., judgment:<sha256>).

3) Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload or submit personal data, doxxing content, threats, harassment, or defamation.
• Upload unlawful content or instructions for illegal activities.
• Misrepresent AI outputs as financial, legal, medical, or investment advice.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or reverse engineer the Service or its providers (e.g., Anthropic, Helius).
• Spam, game, or overload the Service (e.g., automated floods).

We may remove content, throttle, or suspend access at our discretion to protect users, the Service, and third parties.

4) Your Content & Responsibility

• You are responsible for the content you submit, including topics, cases, targets, and links.
• If you choose to anchor a proof, note that blockchain transactions are public and permanent. Only a hash of your content is written on-chain, but the existence and timing of that hash are public.
• Do not anchor any content whose existence or fingerprint should remain private.

5) AI Outputs & License

• AI outputs are generated responses based on your inputs and third-party models. We grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, and share your outputs, subject to these Terms and applicable third-party terms.
• You grant Arete a non-exclusive license to process your inputs for the purpose of generating outputs and improving reliability and safety of the Service.

6) Intellectual Property

• The Service (code, design, branding) is owned by Arete Labs, Inc. and protected by applicable laws.
• You may not use our marks, logos, or UI elements except as permitted by law or our written permission.

7) No Advice; No Warranties

The Service provides automated analysis for informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional advice.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND (EXPRESS OR IMPLIED), INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Arete and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service—even if advised of the possibility. Our aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed USD $100.

9) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Arete, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.

10) Third-Party Services

We rely on third-party providers (e.g., Anthropic for AI, Helius for Solana RPC, hosting providers). Their terms and privacy policies govern their services when engaged by your requests.

11) Changes; Suspension; Termination

We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time. Changes are effective upon posting. Continued use constitutes acceptance. We may suspend or terminate access for abuse, legal risk, or operational reasons.

12) Governing Law & Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Delaware, USA.
